Philip Trousdell says When they left the estate in 1875 it was taken over by my Great-Great Grandfather William Blakeney Persse Trousdell whose family lived in Kilrush. He had enlisted as a trooper in the 6th Lancers in 1860 and
When he left the army in 1875, the year of his marriage, it was arranged that they would take over Castle Lambert. Their second child Alexander James Trousdell died in infancy in 1877 and is buried somewhere in the vicinity. This is of interest to me as their 9th child, my Grandfather was named Alexander James in memory of their lost boy. William and his wife Ellen (nee Whatman) gave up the property in 1884 and went to Maidstone in Kent which was her parents area.
